DTS Group AI Ethics Policy

1. Purpose of Establishment

The DTS Group (hereinafter referred to as “the Group”) seeks to maximize the innovation and convenience brought about by artificial intelligence technologies, including Generative AI, while appropriately managing the ethical and social risks associated with their use, and to promote trustworthy AI utilization.

In leveraging AI, the Group requires actions aligned with the fundamental principles of transparency, accountability, fairness, safety, and compliance with laws and regulations, and aims to maintain and strengthen relationships of trust with employees, business partners, customers, and society.

This AI Ethics Policy aims to ensure the safe and fair use of AI, to create an environment in which employees can confidently utilize AI, and to fulfill our responsibility for sustainable growth and the future.

2. Basic Principles

In utilizing Generative AI, the Group shall adhere to the following six principles:

(1)Human-Centric Approach and Respect for Fairness

AI is a means to complement human capabilities and enhance creativity and job satisfaction. The Group respects the dignity and fundamental human rights of all individuals. In the design, operation, and use of AI, we prioritize human-centered values and give due consideration to fairness and diversity to prevent discrimination or exclusion. In matters involving significant decision-making, we adopt, as a general principle, a Human-in-the-Loop approach (a framework ensuring human involvement) and strive to ensure the appropriate use of AI.

(2)Ensuring Safety, Quality Control, and Proper Data Management

In the development, implementation, and operation of AI, we implement technical and organizational safety measures, ensure rigorous quality control, and strive to minimize harm caused by defects or malfunctions. Personal information and confidential information shall be properly managed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal rules, and shall be acquired and used only within the scope of purposes for which the necessary consent has been obtained.

(3)Transparency and Accountability

In using AI, we strive to ensure accountability and transparency regarding its purpose, mechanisms, and the basis of its judgments and outputs. We will also respond sincerely to questions and concerns from users, stakeholders, and society, thereby enhancing trust in and understanding of AI.

(4)Addressing Social Issues and Promoting Innovation

In the use of AI, we comply with applicable domestic and international laws, regulations, and guidelines related to AI, and respect the intellectual property rights and other rights of third parties. We will also establish responsible management and oversight frameworks and pursue continuous improvement.

(6)Education and Enhancement of AI Literacy

Through employee education and awareness initiatives, the Group strives to develop personnel with high ethical standards and strong AI literacy. We will deepen understanding of AI mechanisms, risks, and societal impacts, and foster a corporate culture that enables the appropriate use of AI.
